Sherly is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who has been providing clinical services for over fifteen years. Her passion for helping others through clinical work led to the development of Mind Compass Counseling- a group practice dedicated to offering clinicians with a collaborative and supportive space for growth; while expanding access to therapy for clients wanting to reach their therapeutic goals in a safe, judgement-free environment.
When working with clients, Sherly's expertise is working with adults, children and adolescents with complex trauma, and a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges such as: anxiety disorders, relationship obstacles, mood disorders, anger management, attachment disorders, acculturation challenges, ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder; as well as working with the LGBT community. Her approach is trauma-informed and focused on empathy, transparency, healing, and self-empowerment.
Sherly utilizes a variety of modalities when working with clients, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Brainspotting, Psychodynamic, Person-Centered, Sandtray, and Neurofeedback.
Sherly is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian, and strives to provide a safe, collaborative, and wholesome environment.
Jacqueline Sleiman, LMHC (she/her/hers)
Jacqui is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) whose mission is to be a person in your life who can collaborate with you in creating positivity and growth towards your goals.
Jacqui incorporates multicultural awareness and a holistic approach, as she has worked with individuals of various abilities and co-morbid diagnoses. Jacqui's focus is to support individuals with gaining more self-awareness and better coping strategies.
Jacqui works with children, adolescents and adults; and has extensive experience working with anxiety, trauma, grief, depression, the LGBT community, traumatic brain injuries (TBI), and cognitive rehabilitation.
Michelle Strait, LMHC (she, her, hers)
Clinician
Michelle is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over ten years of experience working with adolescents and adults. Her areas of expertise include substance use disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, and co-dependence issues. Michelle also provides couples therapy and has extensive experience working with the LGBT community.
Michelle practices multiple styles of therapy including Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed therapy.
Michelle strives to provide a compassionate, empathic, and client-centered approach.
Jessica Thornton, LICSW (she, her, hers)
Clinician
Jessica is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults facing a myriad of emotional and behavioral needs including trauma, adjustment disorders, mood disorders, co-morbid diagnosis, ADHD, and working with the LGBT community.
Jessica strives to empower her clients and their families using strength-based, holistic, and collaborative strategies. She supports her clients in accomplishing goals and personal growth.
Jessica is trained in various treatment models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strength-Based Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, and Mindfulness.
